Wolverine MTW Barrel Nut & Castle Nut Wrench

This is a CNC-machinable combination wrench designed specifically for the Wolverine MTW platform.

The tool combines two commonly required functions in a single compact wrench:

Barrel nut wrench
Buffer tube castle nut wrench

The design was created as a simple and robust maintenance tool that can be machined from a single piece of aluminum plate.

The supplied project includes the model file, CAM setup and NC toolpaths required for CNC machining.

Material

Designed for 10 mm aluminum plate.

Recommended materials:

7075-T6 aluminum

Machining

The CAM setup uses a 3.175 mm flat end mill suitable for aluminum.

Small reliefs have been incorporated into the castle nut engagement features so the internal corners can be machined with a round end mill while maintaining proper engagement with the nut.

The machining operations are separated into roughing and final contour toolpaths.

Prototype Status

The design and CAM setup are complete and have been simulated. The first physical version has not yet been machined due to material availability.

Real-world photos and any necessary revisions will be added after the first machining and fit test.

This project is intended as a maintenance and workshop tool for Wolverine MTW owners.
